Speaker Proposal Guidelines

SENG is seeking proposals for sessions at the SENG 25th Anniversary Conference The SENG Summit: Reaching Altitudes and Attitudes July 18-20, 2008 in Salt Lake City, UT. If you have expertise in one of the themes, let us hear from you by January 15, 2008!

The 2008 conference will have a multi-theme format. The major themes are:
  • Parenting and Grandparenting Gifted Children
  • Education
  • Twice Exceptional
  • Misdiagnosis
  • Gifted Adults
  • Multicultural Outreach
Presentations in one of these areas should be tailored for 60 - 90 minute sessions and suitable for an audience of: gifted adults, educators, mental health professionals, or parents of gifted children.

Review

Proposals will be reviewed by a committee, and selection will be based upon the following criteria.
  • Clarity of the proposal
  • Applicability to one of the themes
  • Relevance to the social and emotional needs of the gifted
  • Usefulness to educators, parents, gifted adults, or mental health professionals

Submission

Proposals may be submitted using the Speaker Proposal Form and emailed as an attachment to office@sengifted.org no later than midnight on January 15, 2008. Proposals submitted after that time will not be considered. Applicants will be notified of the final status of their proposals via email, no later than February 15, 2008.

Presenter Responsibilities

The lead presenter on each presentation will be offered a complimentary conference registration, which will include Friday dinner, Saturday breakfast, lunch and dinner, and Sunday brunch. Presenters will be responsible for all other expenses including travel, lodging, additional meals, and printing of handout materials.
