Dear SENG Visitor:

Welcome!  SENG, Supporting Emotional Needs of the Gifted, is a non‐profit organization that cares and advocates for the unique social emotional needs of gifted children and their families. Gifted children and individuals are unique in their sensitivities and intensities and are often misunderstood. This may put these individuals, children and families on the fringe and leave them without supportive connections. SENG not only provides programs and services which empower parents and professionals to understand and support gifted children, but we provides a place for them to connect and a tribe to belong to. SENG is borderless and connects gifted individuals, children and their families to others like them all over the world.   Welcome to the SENG family.  SENG does not require a membership fee and many of the resources on our website are free for your use.  Start with the about SENG page if you would like to know more about SENG.

The next stop on your website tour should be our resource library.  You will find yourself coming back over and over again to access articles, audiofiles and webinars authored and presented by prominent educators, psychologists, physicians and parents of the gifted as well as gifted individuals in their field.

Be sure to visit our SENGinars page.  SENGinars are webinars that bring you knowledgeable experts discussing issues related to the social emotional needs of the gifted.  SENGinars run 90 minutes and include a slide presentation and a time to ask the presenter questions.

If you are looking for a place to connect with other parents of gifted in an area near you, please visit our SENG Model Parent Group page.  SENG Model Parent Groups are structures to bring together 10 to 20 interested parents of gifted and talented children to discuss such topics as motivation, discipline, stress management, intensity and peer relationships.  This page will lead you to facilitator and group directories so you can find a group near you.

If you are looking for a place for your whole family to connect with other families, please look at our conference page.  SENG annual conferences has something for everyone  Parents and grandparents are exposed to the array of unique attributes associated with giftedness, and taught techniques for dealing effectively with children and children’s teachers.  Children ages 7 through 14 have their own program in environments both on and off-site where they can have fun while connecting to other children who are like-minded.  The SENG Teen Program is for gifted “tweens” aged 15 to 18 and promises a unique experience specially crafted to meet special needs and interests of teens. The emphasis is on social interaction and fun, on making contacts and establishing relationships with other gifted teens from across the country.

You will find many more resources to explore on the SENG Website.  We add new resources every month. I hope you will come back and visit us again and again.  Thank you to SENGs volunteer Board Members, the Executive Director and staff, the Professional Advisory Committee, and the many parents and professionals that constitute the SENG family as we work together to carry out our mission and ultimately achieve our vision.
