25 Ways to Love the Gifted"25 Ways to Love the Gifted"

“Loving a gifted child or adult means helping that person prepare to live and succeed in the greater world and to feel at home among humanity. For children, it means nurturing them with love and acceptance, as well as guiding them to self-discipline, good behavior, and the ability to set their own priorities, goals, and directions. We want our children to have a sense of values for human kind, including honesty, courage, resilience, and the ability to relate to others in a give-and-take way.

With these thoughts in mind, SENG has gathered 25 ways to love a gifted child, and many of these apply to our spouses or other family members who are gifted as well. These ideas have been submitted by current and former members of the SENG Board of Directors and our Executive Director to honor the organization’s 25th anniversary. Those who volunteer their time to SENG and work for our organization care deeply about the social and emotional needs of gifted children and adults. We appreciate their sharing their thoughts with us.

Many gifted children and adults are missing understanding and acceptance in their lives. We dedicate this book to them.”
