2021 SENG Award Nominations

KNOW SOMEONE WHO IS DESERVING OF RECOGNITON?

Nominate them for a

SENG Award today!

Each year at our annual conference, we're proud to honor exceptional individuals in the gifted, talented, and 2e field. Award categories are: Mental Health Professional of the Year, SMPG Facilitator of the Year, Educator of the Year, and Lifetime Achievement.

 

This year's nomination deadline is June 30th!

 

To nominate someone for one of these honors, (1) please read the criteria for awards selection, (2) click the link below to complete the online nomination form AND (3) submit, by email, the following supporting documents to Conference Committee Chair: mike.postma@sengifted.org  no later than June 30th:

 

  • Nominator’s Letter of Support (1-2 pages) directed to "Conference Awards Committee"

  • Nominee’s most recent Vita or Resume, highlighting work that supports the nomination for the specific award

  • Optional: Additional artifacts or evidence that supports the nomination (e.g., digital documentation, links, videos, student work, testimonies, etc.)

 

Incomplete nominations will not be considered. Submission of the nomination form along with the required supporting documents identified below signify your endorsement of the candidate above for the award selected. Your endorsement serves as an initial statement of support and proclamation that the candidate’s work and vision in this category are aligned with SENG’s mission. 

 

Specific Awards Criteria

 

Lifetime Achievement Award

  • Current member and active supporter of SENG.

  • At least 20 years of service within their occupation and/or field of study. 

  • Focused work on supporting the emotional needs of the gifted.

 

Educator of the Year Award

  • Current member and active supporter of SENG.

  • Achievement/work highlighted for the nominated award should be completed within the last 2 years with direct experience in gifted education for at least 5 years.

  • Highlighted teaching focused with proven impact on supporting the emotional needs of the gifted.

 

 

 

Mental Health Professional of the Year Award

  • Current member and active supporter of SENG.

  • Established services specializing in work with gifted individuals.

  • Proven impact on supporting the emotional needs of the gifted.

 

 

SMPG Facilitator of the Year 

  • Current member and active supporter of SENG.

  • Trained facilitator of SENG (verified by certificate and/or name listed on SENG site).

  • Established facilitation of SMPG groups within the last 2 years (verified by attendance sheet and/or % revenue submitted to SENG).

  • Nominated by the nominated facilitator's SMPG attendee/participant or self-nominated with a letter of support from one of your SMPG participant/attendee.
