About The Event

This book explores the issues of Twice Exceptional (2e) children who have ADHD, ASD, or both. In chapters

that focus on giftedness, ADHD, and ASD, the book using relevant research, illustrates the issues relevant to

giftedness itself, ADHD as a general mental health disorder, and ASD as a mental health disorder. Using

anecdotes and examples, these chapters explore how ADHD and ASD manifest in gifted children, how gifted

children and their parents may experience being 2e and how these 2e children differ in presentation from

average IQ children. Then, in chapters that focus on cognitive, creative, emotional, social, and moral aspects,

how gifted children with ADHD and ASD are affected is explored for a variety of topics, along with specific

examples and suggestions for parents and teachers. In a final chapter, issues of assessment for parents, teachers

and professionals are delineated. Resources for parents are also included.

Ticket sales benefit the SENG Scholarship Fund.
