About The Event
Executive functioning refers to neurologically-based skills that help us achieve short and long-term goals through self-management and self- regulation. However, the asynchrony of gifted children often makes this a great source of frustration. Inconsistencies between their cognitive potential and performance in areas such as planning, organization, time management, and emotional regulation can be bewildering for parents, caregivers, educators, and our bright children alike. In this session, attendees will be empowered with a broader framework for identifying
strengths and challenges in executive functioning, a deeper understanding of the unique way these abilities develop in gifted children, practical strategies for building skills at home and in school, and confirmation that you (and your bright children) are not alone.
