Unlock the secrets to nurturing your gifted child's potential by learning how to partner with professionals at school and beyond. Join the NAGC Parent, Family & Community Network for an empowering session filled with tips, tricks, and expert insights on how to be a champion for your gifted child. This evening of advocacy training and discussion led by national experts is the first of a two-part series that will be recorded. Learning outcomes for Part 1 include:
- Overview of typical laws and policies related to gifted education
- Strategies for effective communication with teachers and school administrators
- Overcoming common challenges in the regular classroom
Dr. Christine Deitz is the Associate Director for the Mahony Center for Gifted Education at the University of Arkansas at Little Rock. She is a nationally recognized educator in gifted, creative, and talented education. Beyond her 30 years of public school service, Christine holds two National Board Teacher certificates and is also the coordinator of the National Board Teacher support site at UA Little Rock. She is the author of numerous articles on gifted education and is currently the immediate past- president of the state’s advocacy association, Arkansans for Gifted and Talented Education, having served as president from 2018-2020.
