Online SMPG Facilitator Training

Seng Model Parent Groups (SMPG) are 6 to 10 week guided discussion groups which provide a safe and supportive environment for parents and caregivers to freely discuss their child’s development and their own parenting challenges.  Group participants connect with like-minded parents and caregivers, increase their understanding of their child’s unique needs, learn strategies for successful parenting, and expand their resources and community. SMPG Facilitators are sensitive, caring individuals who nurture, support and guide parents and caregivers through facilitated discussion groups.  In this two-day training, participants will learn techniques and strategies developed and adapted specifically for SMPG.

The SMPG Facilitator Training Team has adapted our SMPG Facilitator Training to be completely online, due to COVID-19.  We know that families need your support right now, and one way we can help you in your efforts is to make this training available during these difficult times.  This experience will certify you to run in-person SMPG groups. Because we know that isn’t possible for most of you right now, we have also adapted our SMPG CHANGE Online Facilitator training, an add-on training to the one listed here, to be more readily available to you. Please see SMPG CHANGE groups for more information about becoming certified to lead SMPG groups online.

This SMPG Training will take place on Saturday, August 29th (9:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. CDT) and Sunday, August 30th (9:00 a.m. - 11:00 a.m. CDT). The training will be conducted entirely through Zoom.

Required books are not included in the cost of this ticket. You will need to purchase a copy of "A Parent's Guide to Gifted Children" and and "Gifted Parent Groups: The SENG Model."
