About The Event
This Parenting Gifted Kids online support group is a series of online guided discussions about the social and emotional needs of bright, gifted, and talented children and how to parent to meet those needs. Learn why bright kids are different. Understand how to best communicate with, motivate, discipline, and guide your talented child. Share your successes and concerns in
a safe and confidential environment.
This group is an opportunity for parents to connect with other parents online to talk about the joys and challenges of parenting gifted children. Participants engage in facilitated discussions guided by trained SENG facilitators. Similar to the SENG Model Parent Group (SMPG), this group will meet weekly for 5 weeks. Each week the discussion will be focused on a specific topic that is relevant to parents of gifted children, such as: characteristics of gifted individuals, communication strategies, perfectionism, intensity, and underachievement.
