A Teachers Guide to Resiliency Through the Arts

This book helps readers access what they know about the arts and how to use the arts regularly to improve student learning and performance. You will find easy-to-use ideas for every classroom or homeschooling parent. Every day, people turn to the arts for inspiration, relaxation, and entertainment, yet these natural languages are underutilized in schools. The arts create meaning and promote deep thinking and problem solving. Powerful changes in school culture and student learning can emerge by regularly including the arts and artful ideas in the classroom.


Cally Flox is the Founding Director of the BYU ARTS Partnership, improving school culture and student learning in schools through professional development for teachers. Cally specializes in creative development and has advanced training in brain compatible learning, including developmental kinesiology and sensory integration which is reflected in her teaching.
