About The Event

Our autonomic nervous systems govern involuntary processes that impact everything from breathing to emotional regulation. Twice-exceptional (2E) and gifted individuals often have more sensitive systems that allow for a greater breadth of experience and feeling, contributing to higher degrees of everything from joy to distress to numbness. Additionally, being gifted in a world designed for an impossible average can require tailored support to maintain health and navigate successfully.

In this session, we will explore how the nervous system works, how being stuck in survival mode impacts it, and how to care for those gifted with sensitivity.

About the Presenter:

Jennie  Tian is a neurodivergent, Chinese-American woman with a trauma history, who strives   to make the world safer for people left behind by our mental health care   systems. She does this through her coaching practice, Body Works Coaching, by   providing nervous system care to individuals and organizations in moving   through traumatic stress and designing safe cultures.

Jennie is certified by the   International Coaching Federation and is training to become a Somatic   Experiencing Practitioner. She also holds a M.S. in Foreign Service from   Georgetown University, and a B.S. in Microbial Biology from the University of   California, Berkeley.
