SENGchat - On Your Time, Not My Time: The Challenges of Raising a Child with Asynchronous Development

Raising a child who develops asynchronous can be a challenge – especially if the child is gifted, talented, or 2e. A child who is talented or precocious in a certain area may appear older or more mature than their chronological age, but they may experience frustrations in communication and/or managing their emotions, often appearing to act younger than they are. Lisa Sticca-Conrod, a mom of a 2e kiddo with extensive training in educational psychology and executive functioning hosts this SENGchat for parents and gifted/2e community to discuss their experiences with asynchronous development and share ideas and strategies to support each other.
