About The Event

There multiple complex intersections created in families who have giftedness, perfectionism, trauma, twice exceptionalism, and emotional intensity. In the context of unexamined family rules, cultures, and expectations, the result can be misunderstanding, rage, and generational patterns of relating. Join me for a discussion of these complex factors and systems with a hopeful view of how we can each change the trajectory in our own family systems.

About the Presenter:

Dr. Megan Helmen is a pediatric neuropsychologist who has been in the field for 12+ years. She has developed a niche of identifying developmental disabilities in gifted individuals and continues to learn how to better understand and support them. She believes in balancing clinical expertise and research-based interventions with connection and a sense of humor. She has developed an evaluation process that values each child as a whole human who can be included by asking questions and receiving feedback.
