About The Event

Children’s body movements share a parallel process to their emotional, psychological, and cognitive states. This presentation will provide insight into their body patterns, language, translations, and common parenting reactions. Participants will walk away with both heightened observation skills and strategies they can use to help children at home and school. By moving away from trying to “fix” everything, you will find the ease that comes from predictability.

About the Presenters:

Dr. Lori Baudino, has been practicing for over fifteen years. She works with children and their families to support the developing child. Understanding the premise that the body, mind and spirit are interconnected, and that life is experienced through movement, Dr. Baudino’s approach allows the child to put words into action, understand individual sensory and motor preferences, express emotional needs, and support overall integration and well-being. Additionally, with The Andréa Rizzo Foundation, Dr. Baudino brought the first Dance/Movement Therapy Programs to the top pediatric hospitals in Los Angeles, where she provides bedside therapy to children with cancer and special needs.

Sharon Duncan is an independent consultant. She works with parents, educators, psychologists and pediatricians to help them understand and meet the social, emotional and educational needs of gifted and 2e children. Her services include assisting parents with school choice/change, advocating for the needs of gifted/2e students, partnering with parents and schools to solve a wide variety of classroom challenges, setting up and managing homeschool, and providing training to educators about giftedness. Sharon has served on the governing boards of both public and private schools, and is an internationally recognized speaker and a regular presenter at schools, and conferences across the globe.
