SENGinar - What a Wonderful Woo: Spirituality in the Gifted

Gifted individuals are often celebrated for what they return to society, but how we think about what is returned is framed by the culture of the day. Scientific and industrial accomplishments may be widely celebrated, but spiritual advancements and experiences--especially those considered outside the norm--are sidelined. Cliff's talk explores anecdotal spiritual practices and supernatural experiences from a variety of sources: historical and contemporary examples, subjects of research, gifted clients from his coaching practice, as well as very briefly touching a couple of personal examples. Themes related to openness to experience, perception, and the structure of intelligence will be explored, as well as cross-cultural considerations and developments.
