As we reach the end of another year, I am filled with immense gratitude and pride in what our organization has accomplished together. Serving as the president of the board has been an incredible honor, and I am constantly inspired by the dedication of our board members, volunteers, and supporters.

Celebrating Our Accomplishments

This year has been one of significant milestones and meaningful impact. Together, we have:

  • Conducted another successful conference in Berkeley, CA. This event has a special place in my heart as it is what encouraged me to become more involved in this special organization.  I look forward to seeing everyone next July in Alexandria, VA. Given world events, it is more important than ever to have the opportunity to come together and support each other. There is truly nothing like SENG!

  • Continued to expand and refine our SENG Community Groups to be more efficient and inclusive.

  • Networked across the country and globe, including Colombia, Brazil, Peru, Greece, Nevada, Massachusetts, Arizona, California, Kansas, Washington, Colorado, and New Mexico.

  • Returned our SENG office to Arizona and held our first SENG Saturday Seminar in many years.

  • Added Community Coordinators to support our board members and programs.

These accomplishments would not have been possible without the collective efforts of all of you. Your support has allowed us to remain steadfast in our mission and has brought hope to so many lives.

Looking Ahead

As we step into a new year, we are filled with optimism and determination. A great deal of work has been going on behind the scenes, and we look forward to sharing improvements and programming updates in 2025, including:

  • Our new membership platform, website, and networking program will come online in January. All SENG members and subscribers will be emailed an invitation to join the new system, which will allow everyone to set up an account, participate in more targeted communications, and network.

  • New mental health programming

  • Annual Community Conference & Retreat - July 24th-25th in Alexandria, VA

  • Monthly events, webinars, author chats, and more!

As we look to the future, I also want to let our community know that I will be stepping down as President and starting as the SENG Executive Director in January. This change will lead to continued stability, and I am thrilled that our current President-Elect, Denise Michele Hicks is ready to take SENG to the next level. I look forward to working with her, the board, and our new President-Elect, Kristin Ashley to move our organization forward!

There is still much work to be done, but with your continued support, we will make an even greater difference for the gifted and twice-exceptional community.

On behalf of our entire board and staff, I want to extend my heartfelt thanks to each of you. Whether you have volunteered your time, donated generously, or simply shared our mission with others, you have been an integral part of our success.

As we close this chapter and begin a new one, let us celebrate all that we have achieved and look forward to the opportunities ahead. Together we are creating a brighter future, and I am excited to see what we will accomplish in the year to come.

Wishing you and your loved ones a joyous holiday season and a happy, healthy New Year.

With gratitude,

Adam C. Laningham
